About Covenant Reader
We make original Christian stories children want to hear again, with biblical care parents can trust.

Meet Brian Reinke
Covenant Reader is written and reviewed by Brian Reinke. Brian studied theology at Westminster Theological Seminary (Glenside, PA), earned his Master of Divinity from Cairn University (Langhorne, PA), and has served on staff at three conservative, Bible-believing churches.
He and his wife, Dawn, have been married for over twenty years and raised three children who have all grown up to love the Lord.
For ordinary moments that shape a child
Most days with young children don’t come with a sermon. They come with bedtime, big feelings, questions in the car, and one more story. Covenant Reader was built for those ordinary moments: original stories that plant one Christian truth, grounded in Scripture, and told warmly enough that a child asks to hear them again.
These are not Bible replacements, Bible retellings, or little sermons in disguise. They are story-first, parent-supported moments that help children see God’s truth applied to fear, apology, patience, belonging, prayer, and love.
“You shall teach them diligently to your children … when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”Deuteronomy 6:7 (ESV)
Biblical convictions behind every story
Covenant Reader is written from historic, orthodox Christian convictions. We aim to be faithful, clear, and gentle with children.
Scripture is our authority
Every story is anchored to a biblical truth and reviewed against Scripture.
God is holy, good, and near
Children meet a God who made them, sees them, rules wisely, and loves truly.
Christ is central
We write in light of Jesus Christ: his grace, forgiveness, resurrection hope, and kingdom.
Grace before growth
Children are loved first. Obedience is a response to love, never a way to earn it.
What we believe, in brief
The Scriptures — The Bible is the inspired Word of God: true, trustworthy, and the final authority for what we believe and how we live.
God — There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — perfect in holiness and love, the Creator and Ruler of all things.
Mankind — Every person is made in God’s image, and by His design is either male or female, with real dignity and worth. Yet all have sinned and are separated from God, and only his grace can restore us to him.
Salvation — Salvation is God’s free gift, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone, who died and rose to redeem us. Justification is by faith alone, apart from any good works or merit on the part of the sinner.
God’s Purpose of Grace — In his love, God draws, saves, and keeps his people. This gracious salvation leaves no room for pride, only gratitude. Through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, believers are enabled to grow in Christlikeness.
Family — God ordained the family as the foundational institution of society. Marriage is the union of one man and one woman, and is designed to illustrate the union between Christ and his church.
Our review promise
- Every story teaches one clear Christian principle, never a vague moral.
- Every story includes a Scripture anchor, using the English Standard Version when quoted.
- Every story is checked for theological clarity, age-fit, warmth, and emotional tone.
- Lessons are shown through the story rather than preached at the child.
- Parent Notes help adults talk, wonder, and pray without turning bedtime into a lecture.
Built for trust, not attention capture
Covenant Reader has no ads, no child-directed purchases, no endless feed, and no third-party trackers on story pages. Child profiles use only a nickname and reading level. Families can cancel or delete their account anytime.
